Jillian Frances Knight
A PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY AND A HEART FOR STORYTELLING
Born in Canada and raised in North Carolina, Jillian’s love for photography began as an artistic and curious child eager to develop home portrait work from nostalgic 90’s disposable film cameras. As an inspired high school film student ready to tell authentic human stories with her camera, Jillian launched her business.
She was awarded scholarships during her time at The Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a degree in Visual Journalism. She worked as an independent photojournalist and staff photographer for five years before dedicating herself to pursuing her passion for documenting and preserving unique family stories. Her notable journalistic field work included a photographic essay of a surrogate and growing family for The New York Times.
Jillian’s dedication to authentically documenting motherhood and family stories has earned her commissions across the world. She has captured love stories unfolding from atop New York City rooftops. Once in a lifetime moments on the coastal cliffs of Ireland, breathtaking images along the waterfront at Lake Como. Never losing love for her roots, she joyfully captures stories in all corners of The United States including the Carolinas, Virginia, New England and across to the Pacific Northwest, Bay Area and Southwest.
