Raleigh is about 3,500 away from Ireland. I did not hesitate for even a moment to travel that distance to document Annelise & Max’s destination wedding in County Clare, Ireland. The couple live in New York City. When they told me they were planning a wedding in Doonbeg, Ireland I pictured a small gathering. I was so wrong! This couple had so many friends and family members show up for their across the pond wedding.

The weekend kicked off with a pub crawl and in town. The following day wedding guests packed small town pubs in Doonbeg. Guinness was of course plentiful. The wedding guests visited the Cliffs of Moher and played golf overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The wedding day was a coveted sunny day in Ireland. It was breezy and the perfect temperature. Just chilly enough to enjoy the sweater around your shoulders but not a cold that stings. The couple held their Catholic ceremony at St Senan’s Church in Kilrush. The church was as beautiful as I dreamed it would be. The couple and their guests headed back to Doonbeg for a luxury dinner overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. I will let the photos of the elegant reception speak for themselves. The room was stunning and details by Longhand Edition really were the cherry on top of the elegant and beautiful table decor.

The night was filled with beautiful speeches and perhaps the most epic dancing I have ever seen at a wedding. The couple hired an Irish band to play at the reception and they did not disappoint in the slightest. Guests danced beyond midnight. The couple closed out the weekend with traditional Irish breakfast served in the dining room of the resort.

The entire weekend was a dream. Thank you, Annelise and Max, for trusting me to document your incredible destination wedding. It was an unbelievable weekend.
